Compact monoblock power amplifier for subwoofers - cinch or high-level
The OPTION AIR-D1 is a compact Class-D monoblock power amplifier for rich and controlled subwoofer bass. With 350 watts RMS @ 4 ohms or 580 watts RMS @ 2 ohms, it delivers real power - and remains pleasantly small. You can operate it either via RCA (low level) or high level; in high level mode, it switches on and off independently thanks to AutoSense/Auto-Remote
Subsonic: 10-50 Hz
Bass Boost: 0-12 dB
What the AIR-D1 brings you
More bass, more control and a clean tuning: The AIR-D1 can process the input signal flexibly (cinch or high-level) and offers you the most important tools for a precise subwoofer sound with subsonic and low-pass. The level remote control allows you to adjust the bass from the comfort of the driver's seat
- Monoblock for subwoofers: one channel, full concentration on bass - built for just that
- High level or cinch: select input via switch; at high level, the power amplifier switches on/off automatically thanks to AutoSense/Auto-Remote
- Clean tuning: low-pass to prevent booming, subsonic to relieve low bass, bass boost to taste
- Level remote control: front bass control - fast, convenient and suitable for everyday use
In combination: With a clean gain setting and correctly set filters, you can get a much more precise, powerful bass foundation from your subwoofer
Main features
- Class-D power amplifier: compact, efficient and powerful
- Switchable input: low level (cinch) or high level - selection via switch on the power amplifier
- AutoSense/Auto-Remote (with High-Level): automatic on/off switching when operating via High-Level
- Low-pass filter: 50 Hz - 250 Hz (can also be used for higher crossover frequencies if required by your setup)
- Subsonic filter: 10 Hz - 50 Hz to optimise performance and protect your subwoofer
- Bass boost: 0 - 12 dB (use sparingly - depending on your setup and taste)
- Level remote control: jack connection + remote control included
- Protected connections: recessed screw terminals under covers - neat and short-circuit protected
Connection & signal (cinch or high-level)
The input signal is supplied via the 4-pin Molex connection. A suitable adapter is included for operation with a retrofit radio (cinch/low-level). Alternatively, the same input can be used as high level - for this, the input on the power amplifier is switched to high level. This allows you to use the speaker signal from the radio directly without necessarily needing an RCA output. With high-level, AutoSense/Auto-Remote takes over the automatic switching on and off
Installation
- Mount the power amplifier stably (use mounting plates) so that it sits securely in everyday use
- Connect the power supply properly (plus/minus) and set the fuse correctly near the battery - you will find suitable cable accessories in the "Accessories" tab
- Select the input signal: Low level (cinch) or high level - set the input appropriately using the switch on the power amplifier. At high level, the power amplifier switches on/off automatically thanks to AutoSense/Auto-Remote
- Connect the subwoofer: Strip the speaker cables, ideally fit them with wire end ferrules and secure them in the screw terminals
- Adjust the setup: Adjust the gain to a clean level, set the low-pass and fine-tune the subsonic/bass boost if required
- Place the level remote control at the front (e.g. in the cockpit area) and connect it via a jack
- Helpful (installation) accessories (e.g. pulling aids, panelling tools, cable management) can be found to the right of the article description or at the bottom of the page in the "Accessories" tab

Notes & optional items
Subwoofer connection: You can work classically with speaker cables or - if you are using an OPTION subwoofer - use a suitable plug & play subwoofer cable. Examples
Plug & play connection solutions (without disconnecting cables): If you want to conveniently tap the input signal at the radio, you will find suitable variants(ISO/Quadlock/Power-Quadlock) here: D1 variants
For many vehicles, connection solutions can also be supplemented with T-cable sets: Overview of T-cable sets
Alternative versions: If you not only want to amplify the subwoofer, but also the front/rear, there are suitable variants with more channels: The AIR-D4 can be used for front+rear or front+sub, the AIR-D6 for front+rear+sub. You can find the variant overviews here:
