- Please use the AAC.3 when tapping the signal from the factory car radio.

Further application note:

There are a few exceptions (old BMW and similar) where the factory amplifiers have almost as little power as a normal car radio, for which we recommend the Helix AAC.3. But please contact us to make sure whether you need an AAC.3 or AAC.3HP.

Helix AAC.3 Description

The integration of car hi-fi components into existing original sound systems is becoming increasingly complex due to intelligent radio diagnostics systems and the lack of preamplifier outputs on the factory radio. This is where the new Helix AAC.3 comes into play.

The most intelligent high-low converter in its class

Thanks to the integrated ADEP.2 circuit, which bypasses the radio diagnostics system, error messages or even the cancellation of individual functions (e.g. faders) are a thing of the past.
Distorted music signals and an increased distortion factor, which can occur in conjunction with conventional high-low converters, are prevented by the intelligent ADEP.2 circuit. In addition, the load on the car radio amplifier is reduced and its power consumption is cut by up to 70%.

Smart signal detection

Its "Double Activation Circuit" also generates a +12 V remote signal in two different ways to switch on the connected aftermarket amplifier. It either recognises the DC potential on the speaker outputs of standard factory amplifiers or uses integrated signal detection with variable input sensitivity, which can also be activated.
The "Power Save Mode", which switches off the remote output if there is no input signal for longer than 2 minutes, is also part of the standard equipment. This is because many vehicles with "CAN" or similar bus systems leave the sound system "invisibly" activated for up to 15 minutes, even if you have left the vehicle in the meantime.

High Resolution-capable

The AAC.3 HP generates a high-quality preamplifier signal from the loudspeaker signal of the amplifier of an original sound system and thus enables the simple connection of additional retrofit amplifiers. Its particularly wide transmission range of 18 Hz to 80,000 Hz guarantees excellent sound and makes it High Resolution-capable.

For original sound systems without a separate factory amplifier, we recommend using the AAC.3, which is specially developed for direct connection to the loudspeaker outputs of the factory radio.
