Whereas in the past, very large amplifiers and subwoofers were installed visibly and very prominently in the boot, hidden components are now all the more popular in modern vehicles. However, these have to be much more compact and efficient. A good and proven solution for more bass in the car are active enclosure subs, in which the integrated subwoofer is driven by an active module already installed in the enclosure at the factory. The powerful and highly efficient digital POWER4 and POWER2 retrofit modules with real RMS wattage and ingenious connection features for many high-end applications now provide a remedy.
Depending on the subwoofer installed, you can choose between a 4- or 2-ohm version, otherwise the modules are identical in construction. With a massive 460 W/RMS for the 4 Ohm and 475 W/RMS for the 2 Ohm model, even very power-hungry subs can be driven - and with an impressively high efficiency of up to 84%. Such modules only achieve this through advanced Class D technology; conventional Class A/B amplifiers are completely inadvisable, as they consume much more power at high output and would therefore quickly overheat and require much larger cable cross-sections. Ingenious - smaller subwoofers can also be optimally supplied and protected from excessive power via a hidden 3-way limiter switch. Both modules fit into all passive enclosures from ESX, Musway and HiFonics with Quick Connect terminals in exchange. Installation and connection is extremely simple!
Connecting to modern car audio systems is often a major challenge. Thanks to advanced EPS PRO technology, it is possible to simulate three different input resistances, allowing the high-level inputs to be perfectly matched to the radio in the vehicle without triggering a fault diagnosis in the vehicle. In addition, the input sensitivity can be conveniently switched from 15 to 40 volts.
