With the new V-1000A, ESX is launching an active subwoofer on the market that is particularly aimed at lovers of good sound. It is therefore part of the VISION family, which contains only the highest quality products from the ESX programme. In the case of the V-1000A, this means that special attention has been paid to the best possible sound, impulse fidelity and deep bass tuning - and all this with the smallest possible dimensions!

TECH TALK: THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE V-1000A

The V-1000A was developed with the aim of combining maximum bass response with high precision in a compact housing. The problem is that although modern woofers enable impressive bass reproduction from a small volume, they often have to contend with reduced efficiency or design compromises. To avoid these conflicting objectives, the V-1000A utilises an actively driven chassis in combination with two precisely tuned passive cones. This principle corresponds functionally to a bass reflex system - but without the classic port. With very low tuned bass reflex enclosures such as the Vision speaker, very long reflex ducts would be required, which would be difficult to integrate mechanically. In addition, high air velocities in the port can lead to flow noise and compression effects. Instead, the passive diaphragms of the V-1000A take over the function of the air mass in the reflex channel. Their moving mass defines the tuning frequency of the system, while their mechanical damping controls the impulse behaviour. The result: powerful, controlled bass from a compact volume - free from flow noise and with stable air spring control even below the tuning frequency. Controlled bass from a VISION subwoofer!

PLENTY OF POWER: 325 W RMS CLASS D MODULE

The drive unit is a powerful 10 inch (25 cm) subwoofer with a large 50 mm voice coil, which is driven by the integrated Class D active module. The efficient amplifier delivers 325 watts RMS and achieves an efficiency of up to 87% - this means maximum power with minimum power loss. Low-pass filters with 12 or 18 dB slope, bass boost and a phase switch are available for optimum sound tuning. The signal can be fed in either via RCA inputs or high-level inputs with automatic switch-on function. The included bass level remote control and a detachable power plug for power and remote connection are also very practical - making it quick and easy to remove the speaker from the vehicle. Visually, the V1000A impresses with elegant protective grilles, a high-quality ESX logo sticker and an overall elegant, modern appearance.
