The Prima APBX 8 AS active subwoofer with 8-inch driver features a special high-performance amplification module that enhances all passive speaker technologies, such as the 2S² (2 Sides / 2 Sounds) design, the Plug & Play connection block in an ultra-compact size.
The amplifier module with 250W RMS power has been developed with He-Li technology (high efficiency / low impedance) which, thanks to the absence of the DC-DC voltage amplifier, reaches the impressive 90% efficiency, very close to the theoretical limit of the D class.
The elimination of the voltage amplifier was made possible thanks to the development of the new dual coil drivers, which inherit all the technological background of the Prima subwoofers, but differ in their extremely low impedance.
This feature ensures a perfect synergy with the He-Li (High Efficiency Low Impedance) technology and maximises the combination of amplifier, speaker and sealed box to obtain low, powerful and crisp frequencies.
The control range is complete and offers optimal control of low frequency emission in the cabin. The Butterworth low pass filter at 12 dB / oct. with variable cut-off frequency (50-200 Hz) can be bypassed when used with an AP bit processor with pre-output dedicated to the subwoofer. The adjustable bass boost control (0 ÷ 6 dB) at 45 Hz allows the user to emphasise the reproduction on the lower side of the spectrum.
The high-level input for the speakers on a multi-pin connector simplifies integration with OEM audio systems, while the low-level input for RCA is intended for connection to after-market sources.The subwoofer's ART (Automatic Remote Turn-On) automatic on/off function can be configured to be controlled by the source's remote control signal, the voltage change on the high-level input or the audio signal on both inputs. Phase control (0 - 180°) completes the device.
The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) connection has a single plug & play connection to disconnect the box easily and safely.
