ARS24 from 1995 until today...

1995 - Foundation

ARS24 was originally the "car radio shop" in Memmingen and was founded in May 1995 by Olli Weiß.

As a one-man show, he sold car radios and loudspeakers in his 50 square metre shop during the day and then installed them in customer vehicles in his parents' workshop at night, as the first company headquarters did not yet have an assembly hall.

Just one year later, the company received active support from its first employee and moved into the new premises with an installation workshop totalling 250 square metres. Now the company was able to show what it could do.

In addition to retrofitting sound systems, hands-free systems and beautiful "handmade" car boot conversions were all the rage at the time.

2002 - Start of e-commerce

As early as 2002, we also took off on eBay and launched our own online shop. Now our company name was also given the "24", as we are now online 24 hours a day. In the meantime, the team has grown to 4 employees.

2005 - Relocation to Eibenweg

About 10 years later, we moved to Eibenweg and got new premises with a showroom and assembly areas for up to 4 vehicles at the same time. There was now enough space for us to expand into sales and installation on site, as well as sales in the online world.

2010 - ARS24 goes Youtube

The launch of our explanatory videos and YouTube product presentations gave us the opportunity to pass on our knowledge to all our customers with moving images. Our aim was to take some of the pressure off our on-site sales team and to be able to answer as many questions as possible in the videos. We were also able to inspire and motivate people interested in car hi-fi to install their own sound systems themselves. This online marketing has been very successful to this day and is a lot of fun for us. Our own marketing department with a cameraman and graphic designer was born.

2011 - Opening of the Kempten (Allgäu) branch

With the opening of the branch in Kempten, we had expanded our team to 10 employees and gained a lot of experience in stationary sales. Unfortunately, we had to close the branch in 2016 due to a lack of specialised staff. We were able to recruit the remaining colleagues to join our team in Memmingen.

2018 - Concentration on international sales

Since the start of online trading, we have clearly noticed an increasing trend over the years towards the Internet and away from the stationary local shop and were therefore sure that we could now further expand our company through global online trading and thus inspire many more people for the topic of car hi-fi. This year, we decided to put all our eggs in one basket and discontinue regional sales and installation completely. The salespeople and fitters were a welcome support for our sales and support team by email and telephone. The installation workshop then served as a film studio and for the development of our own products.

Over 20 employees now take care of customer service in our online shop and on the Amazon and Ebay platforms, as well as the international sales network and video production. The entire logistics for this takes place at the company headquarters in Memmingen.

2019 - Launch of the house brand "OPTION"

With many years of experience in sales and with the material itself, we decided together as a team to develop our own products and design them entirely according to our ideas and wishes - thus the house brand "OPTION" was born and was also included in the range. Loudspeakers, subwoofers and modern DSP amplifiers were the cornerstone for specific sound systems for retrofitting by the customers themselves.

Today, plug & play sound solutions are the focus of our company philosophy and are designed and optimised in our own development department. This type of sound solution is becoming more and more popular, as the video instructions allow our customers to install the system themselves without having to make any major adjustments to the vehicle. This is also a great opportunity for retrofitting in leased vehicles without leaving any residue.

2021 - Relocation to 2500 square metres of office and storage space

The large turnover of goods and the constant expansion of the range of our own brand have led us to expand our company headquarters once again within Memmingen. We now have sufficient space to store products for fast despatch and to continue to integrate new products.

Our warehouse covers an area of over 2000 square metres and can be conveniently accessed on one level. All storage locations are numbered and incoming and outgoing goods are scanned without errors. Due to our processes, we have opted for a fixed warehouse organisation. Our logistics team is of course provided with safety clothing and the necessary driving licences are paid for.

We not only have the warehouse on almost 2500 square metres, but also the office with height-adjustable desks and huge screens for a more comfortable working environment. During breaks or after work, our employees can enjoy a cosy break in the gaming room with a game of pool, table football or darts. And if you like, you can of course ask Olli to play a game of table football or billiards with you. A large and modern communal kitchen with a portafilter coffee machine and large TV is also available to all employees.
